Central Seniors Take Oath of Enlistment
BATON ROUGE — Twelve students representing Central High School were given the Oath of Enlistment and honored at the 3rd Annual High School Enlistee Recognition Ceremony Thursday, April 18 at the Old State Capitol.
Central principal Bob Wales was presented the Gen. Colin L. Powell Service Award for Leadership by Supt. John White. The award is presented to the high school educator who best supports young adults desiring to serve in the Armed Forces following graduation.
Receiving the Oath of Enlistment were: Hunter Matthew Cazes, United States Army; Rachel Elizabeth Dinger, United States Army; Meagan Malynne Floyd, United States Army; William Kody McDonald, United States Army; Jermaine DeQuincy Mearidy, United States Army; Michael Anthony Miller, United States Army; Blake Lane Newsom, United States Army; Joshua Michael Schrieffer, United States Army; LeAndre Hinton, United States Marine Corps; Stephen Ayers, United States Navy; Kayla Louque, United States Navy, and Taylor Michelle Owen, Louisiana Army National Guard.
