Central High No. 1 in La. in Grades 9-11
The Central Community School System tied with four other school systems for having the No. 1-performing high school students in the state, according to rankings announced by the Louisiana Department of Education. A total of 75 percent of Central’s freshmen, sophomores, and juniors scored good or excellent in Algebra I, English II and III, geometry, biology, and American history. This score was matched by Zachary, St. Tammany, Vernon, and Vermillion.
Central Supt. Mike Faulk said the results were gratifying but showed room for improvement. He said he was particularly pleased that over 80 percent of Central students did well in U.S. history.
