Another Closed Door Meeting This Afternoon on City Services
CENTRAL — The public will probably be excluded again this afternoon when the Mayor’s Committee on City Services meets at 5 p.m. this afternoon at City Hall, 13421 Hooper Road, Suite 8. After the closed door meeting, the committee could make its decision on a City Services contractor.
The Central City News was not provided a meeting notice until this morning, although state law requires 24 hours’ notice. To see a copy of the agenda, CLICK HERE
The agenda says the committee will discuss and take action on evaluation criteria and ranking of City Services proposals by the four bidders and evaluating the cost of each proposal.
The meeting agenda also calls for excluding the public, so the committee can discuss the following items:
• Discussion and action regarding Legal and Financial Qualifications and the Qualifications, Experience, and Resources of
CSRS, Inc DBA Central Municipal Services Group
CH2HILL
Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS)
Severn Trent Services
On Friday, the committee held a four-hour closed-door meeting, from which the public was barred. It was purportedly held to discuss the character and qualifications of “persons” but the meeting reportedly went far beyond that.
So far, the public has not seen bidders answer any questions, nor has the public been allowed to ask bidders any questions. Committee members said they wanted to see how bidders react when asked questions, but the public has not had that opportunity.
The meeting agenda includes an item, “Discussion and action regarding recommendation of City Services provider to Mayor.” This would allow the committee to make its decision on a City Services contractor at tonight’s meeting.
