ST. JUDE BIKE-A-THON — Chuck Langlois (left) is inviting all of Central to participate in the 29th Annual St. Jude Bike-a-Thon, rain or shine, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon this Saturday, May 12 at Bellingrath Elementary. The Greenwell Springs Library is hosting the “Art League of Central: A Retrospective.” The Central community is invited to come and see a variety of paintings, drawings, and carvings by members of the Art League and works of senior students from Central High and Central Private.
May 10 and 11 • School House Rock, Live! Jr. • 7 p.m.
Central Middle School Talented Music and Theatre presents School House Rock, Live! Jr. at the Central High School Theatre. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the Central Middle School office or at the door.
Saturday, May 12 • 10th Annual Zoar Car Show • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The 10th Annual Car Show will be held at Zoar Baptist Church. Vehicle pre-registration is $15 which includes lunch. Vehicle registration fee day of car show is $20 which includes lunch. Trophies and awards will be given for all classes and categories. Free admission, free food, and door prizes.

“Power Up Safely!” will feature topics on Internet safety, social networking, online solicitation of minors, and cyber-bullying. The event is sponsored by the Central Community School System and the CCSS Title I Department and will be held in the Central High Theatre.

Dr. Joshua Best, an OB/Gyn with Bayou Regional Women’s Clinic will discuss effective treatment for the symptoms of menopause during the “Ask the Doctor” Lunch and Learn session Lane Regional Medical Center. Wildcat Baseball Camp will be held at Central High baseball field for boys ages 7 through 14. The camp will focus on hitting, bunting, fielding, sliding, throwing, base running, ground ball technique, and fly ball technique.
